💰The Home Storage Products Making 7, 8 & 9 Figures Per Year

Home storage products are quietly becoming all the rage with cool, sleek and innovative new brands constantly popping up - and seeing impressive growth

With a push against plastics and more people looking for a minimalist approach to storing their everyday goods, a huge market opportunity has opened up. From kitchen and food storage, to makeup and bathroom and even resusable bags for sustainability there’s a ton of growth happening.

CADENCE CAPSULES

Cadence is a cool company that came across our radar about a year ago. They make travel capsules with an incredible focus on sleek, travel friendly design.

While the price range has it falling into luxury purchase range (some sets costing $200 to $300), it’s clearly working. The company has grown very quickly in a few short years and even seems to be dominating some retail spaces now.

One thing we love about Cadence is their ability to create capsules for just about any occasion (proof in the image below). It’s clearly a market you don’t think of when starting a brand but that makes it even more genius.

They’ve been incredibly crafty with their best selling sets, and ability to come up with unique capsules. There’s also a customized build-a-bundle option making for another unique element most brands can’t offer. The design is unique in that the capsules use magnets to connect to each other creating an easy to use on-the-go set that’s perfect for home or travel storage.

Check them out and grab some design inspiration, their marketing campaigns are great to follow and grab inspiration from as well.

The next company we’ll look at is Fellow. They offer a wide variety of products for all of your caffeinated needs, however, their first home run product that caught our attention is the Atmos Vacuum Storage Container.

The product looks extremely sleek and uses a twist turn lid to vacuum out the air and keep the jar airtight, maintaining the freshness and potency of beans, dried foods or any other consumables inside.

Fellow has seen amazing growth over the years and according to their amazon listing for the Atmos Jar, the product sells approximately 3,000 units a month - just on Amazon. Now factor in their website, retail stores… I never thought there would be this much demand for an airtight coffee jar.

I’ve personally seen them in a few retail stores near me and it feels as if they’re everywhere. A no brainer product with big demand and simple design.

Clearly the brand has growing interest year over year and has been steadily growing for 5 years. Very impressive to maintain that much growth as theyve been around for over a decade and once again proves there’s a huge market for outside the box kitchen and household storage containers.

A Look at Fellow Coffee Growth Demand Over 5 Years

The last company we’ll look at is Stasher Reusable bags. They design and manufacture reusable and sustainable ziploc bags and offer a variety of options from Sandwich bags, standups, pocket sized and bundles.

My favorite businesses have a simple proposition where the value is so clear, it’s a no-brainer. Stasher definitely falls under this category:

“STASHER WAS FOUNDED WITH A BOLD MISSION: DESIGN RADICALLY FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS THAT INSPIRE EVERYONE TO REPLACE SINGLE-USE PLASTIC.”

Secondly, they are absolutely crushing it with their socials. They’ve taken what many would consider a boring everyday product and made it really pop and stand out with a ton of engagement.

Stasher has also proven demand both offline and in retail. They are carried in thousands of stores nationwide (including whole foods) and sell tens of thousands of units per month just on Amazon alone.

One thing we love about this line of products is the simple design across all skus. With many brands you often find yourself forcing new products to the market which requires design, engineering, many prototypes, many failures and overall a ton of wasted money trying to bring new skus to the market.

Many brands live and die by a couple new product releases every year, potentially costing them hundreds of thousands or making them millions.

What if you could simplify this process by simply changing the design of an already existing product? Adding in more colors, changing the shape for different use or making a “pocket sized” offer.

Stasher has really mastered simplicity with multiple skus and offers using the same basic premise of a multi-use product that eliminates single use plastic. Good for the environment and your wallet over the long run.

So how can you take advantage of the growing market?

One thing that really stands out about all of these products is the focus on premium design. They are all uniquely created to fit the specific problem they are solving for. We’ve researched dozens of other companies that didn’t make the cut for this week’s newsletter, however, they had the same focus on crafting unique, niche products and solving a problem for a specific market.

Once the design is locked down, customers are willing to pay more, hence they can advertise more than ziploc bags or many other competitors to acquire customers. This comes with bigger margins and less risk upon launching new skus.

In addition to a focus on design, I think there’s a huge opportunity in sustainable products that limit or compeltely eliminate the use of plastics, but still solve a specific problem.

A pill container that clearly allows customers to label what’s inside, eliminates plastics which seap into the contents you’re storing and designed for everyday use yet look great on a countertop or in the bedroom.

Make it easy for customers to organize and label their pills, without having to take out some weird plastic prescription bottle. From there, make it travel friendly and color coded for clarity. There’s a growing number of aging adults mixing medications and taking the wrong meds, I think there could be good demand for a product in this category.

Another interesting angle is a multi-use household storage bag for clothing, blankets and textiles, with an emphasis on eliminating plastics. Think Stasher meets bedroom and closet storage. There are many zipper and plastic combo options available now, but none that really put an emphasis on sustainable living.

From there, a line of products can easily be developed around the same premise. Household storage focused on sustainable materials and easy to travel with if necessary.

Hope this draws up some inspo for you..

We’ve got a killer report coming next week on bootstrapped, niche clothing brands dominating their respective industries and even taking marketshare from the big boys like Nike and Adidas.

That’s it for this week. Grab a few ideas and run with’em. Someone will, why not you?

Have a day.
